City Councilman Mike Driscoll last week welcomed supporters to a dinner at Gallo’s Seafood following his swearing-in ceremony earlier in the day.

Driscoll (D-6th dist.) was unopposed in a May 2022 special election and won a four-year term without opposition in November.

The Rev. Vincent Guest offered a prayer and blessed Driscoll and his family. Guest, a 1977 graduate of Father Judge High School, is a lawyer and former 65th Ward Democratic committeeman who worked in the administration of Gov. Bob Casey. Today, he is pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Camden. He, Driscoll and the councilman’s chief of staff, Tom Forkin, are longtime friends.

Driscoll thanked Forkin and his staff, along with his staff from when he was a state representative. Among those on hand were City Controller Christy Brady, city elections commissioner Lisa Deeley and state Rep. Pat Gallagher. ••
