    The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives within the last week have approved a bill that would rename the Philadelphia VA Medical Center, at 3900 Woodland Ave. in West Philadelphia, in memory of Army Cpl.     Somerton couple does not sign forfeiture agreement

    The District Attorney’s office last week said a Somerton couple wouldn’t have to worry about losing their home if they would sign an agreement that would end forfeiture proceedings against their Ferndale Street property. The couple’s lawyer, however, said they wouldn’t sign.

    Fighting forfeiture

    A Somerton couple was forced out of their home and told the DA’s office will seize the property because of their son’s drug arrest.

    A Northeast couple has been trying to keep their Somerton home from becoming the District Attorney’s office’s property. Christos and Markela Sourovelis said representatives of the DA’s office forced them out of their Ferndale Street home in early May, telling the couple that the office will take the property from them because of their son’s March drug arrest.

    Mark Zataveski is a fairly new figure around the Father Judge community. For some, the name might ring a bell; for others, he is simply recognized as one of the biggest men they have ever seen teaching or coaching at the school.
