Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer as well as the end of summer break for many Northeast Philadelphia civic associations that will resume their monthly public meetings in September. The Northeast Times will strive to report on as many of these meetings as possible. But residents are also welcome to attend these sessions to find out what’s happening in their neighborhoods.

Amici Opera Company, which has been producing shows in the Philadelphia area since 1998, has found a new local home.
The Burholme Community Town Watch and Civic Association will meet on Thursday at 7 p.m., at United Methodist Church of the Redeemer, at 1128 Cottman Ave. (at Lawndale Avenue).
There were no guest speakers at last week’s Burholme Community Town Watch and Civic Association meeting, but members enjoyed a nice meal and a mini-concert that featured Christmas music.
