On Feb. 11 at around 10:50 p.m., a 2005 Honda traveling eastbound on Harbison Avenue collided with a 2008 Acura as it was making a left hand turn onto Roosevelt Boulevard, according to police.

The girl’s mother was holding her in her lap in the front passenger seat of the Honda. The girl suffered fatal injuries and the driver of the vehicle was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center with a laceration to her leg. A 4-month-old boy in the back of that vehicle who was properly restrained was also transported to the hospital. The mother did not suffer any injuries.

The infant was identified as Nayeli Torres of the 1000 block of Columbia Boulevard in National Park, New Jersey. She was pronounced dead at 11:50 p.m.

The driver of the Acura suffered minor injuries and was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital.

Police said it is unclear who had the right of way at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing with the Accident Investigation Division. No charges have been made yet.
