Jimmy Binns, president and CEO of Holiday Meals for Heroes, on Good Friday welcomed families of local police officers who are disabled or were wounded or died in the line of duty to a breakfast at Sunnybrook Golf Club in Plymouth Meeting.

The families also took home Easter dinner donations. Children met the Easter Bunny and took part in an Easter egg hunt.

The event was sponsored by International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 98, headed by Mark Lynch. The program furnishes breakfast and dinner meals to several officers who’ve survived their wounds and area families of fallen police officers at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Families of local fallen officers who were in attendance included Andrew Stackwicz, Chuck Cassidy, Timothy Simpson, James O’Connor, Walter DeWitt, Isabel Nazario, Brian Lorenzo and Christopher Fitzgerald.

Highway Patrol Officer Andy Chan, who was severely injured in an accident as he headed to work on Rhawn Street in 2019, was at the breakfast.

Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel was among those in attendance. ••
