Police received a call Thursday about a man armed with a weapon at 942 Anchor St. Upon arrival the man threw objects out of the window at the officer. Shortly after, he turned on the gas inside the property and began pouring unknown liquid on the doors and windows.

Officers declared a barricade situation at 4:36 p.m. and evacuated a neighboring building. The man reportedly told officers he had explosives in the building.

They were able to remove the man several hours later with no incident. He was taken to the hospital shortly after.
