Holmesburg a no on triplex, Rowland Ave. office

Holmesburg Civic Association last week listened to two zoning proposals.

The owners of a triplex at 7923 Charles St. want to legalize the use. However, the civic group has a standing policy of opposing the legalization of triplexes, and will oppose the Charles Street property in front of the Zoning Board of Adjustment.

The owner of a residentially zoned property at 8085 Rowland Ave. wants to use what he calls an existing office for his home health care business. The office would be used to store records and for employees to drop off time cards if they don’t submit them electronically. Some neighbors said the house was never previously used as an office. Eight people voted to oppose the plan, one was in support and two abstained.
