Everybody’s a winner at basketball fund-raiser

State Reps. Brendan Boyle and Kevin Boyle raised $2,560 for the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 Survivors Fund last weekend during a youth basketball tournament at Abraham Lincoln High School.

Brendan Boyle (D-170th dist.) started the tournament after taking office in 2009 to bolster the survivors fund in the wake of a series of murders of Philadelphia police officers. Kevin Boyle (D-172nd dist.), his younger brother, joined the cause after taking office this year. The tournament was open to boys and girls seventh- and eighth-grade teams.
