Agora Cyber Charter School sponsored a Read Across America Month event at Northeast Regional Library on March 26. The event featured Dr. Seuss stories, arts and crafts, a costume parade and a visit by the Cat in the Hat.
A Northeast native who practices chiropractic and holistic healthcare in Bucks County has joined the ranks of child advocates including Dr. Theodore Geisel (a.k.a. Dr. Seuss) and Dr. Benjamin Spock, as well as Nobel Prize winners Dr. Jonas Salk and Linus Pauling, as a recipient of the International Academy for Child Brain Development’s “Statuette with Pedestal” award for 2014.
The National Education Association’s Read Across America Day was on March 3. Due to weather, Kennedy Crossan Elementary School participated on March 7 instead. Local volunteers, parents, and politicians came to the school to read different Dr. Seuss books for several hours in the morning to 10 different classes. PHOTOS BY MARIA POUCHNIKOVA
