Coe was born June 17, 1922. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943-46, spending time in the Pacific Theater during World War II, earning several medals and leaving as a corporal.

Over the years, he worked for North Brothers Manufacturing, Proctor Electric and his dad’s printing business. His hobbies have included cars, model trains, gardening, oil painting and traveling. He and his wife of almost 75 years Mary had two children, Bill and Tim. Mary died last year and was predeceased by her son Bill.

Tim and other family members attended the birthday celebration, which featured a red, white and blue birthday cake and cookies. State Rep. Jared Solomon (a former captain in the Army Reserve) presented Coe with a House citation, and Army staff Sgt. Tydricka Wallace was also in attendance. Everyone sang Happy Birthday. Coe received cards and gifts, and a microphone was passed around for WEL Burholme residents to wish him a happy birthday. ••
