GNPCC Leadership Development Program volunteers wrapped copies of the book Raising the Bar, presented by Beneficial Bank for a dozen female students ages 10–13. The volunteers also placed a personal note into the front cover of the book, meant to be read over the summer.

The book was written by Gabrielle Douglass, a gold medal-winning gymnast in the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Mayfair’s Collette McBratney is the director of the leadership development program, and she also directs Be Your Best.

Beneficial’s Jenn MacMullen, Andrea Byard and Kristina Berrios spoke to the girls about financial literacy. The bank also provided bags filled with goodies.

The main focus of the 12-week class was teaching manners and etiquette skills.

The girls officially graduated from the program on June 13 during a ceremony/three-course tea party at the Four Seasons Hotel in Center City. They arrived in limousines, and performed a musical selection. ••
