There is a new community relations officer at the 15th Police District, members of the district’s advisory council learned at their Sept. 30 session. Officer Keisha Jacobs, with the department since 1998, is replacing Officer Sharon Krause, who has been the 15th’s CRO for several years and is now the district’s Compstat officer.
Capt. John McCloskey, the 15th Police District commander, said shootings in the district, the city’s largest and busiest, are down 50 percent over last year.

In what might be a first for a Northeast community group, the 2nd Police District Advisory Council has banned civilian members from carrying guns to its meetings.
The ban applies to civilian members of the 2nd PDAC. Cops will continue to carry firearms at the monthly meetings.
