Authorities investigating Adams Avenue bank robbery

A man robbed the Wells Fargo bank branch Wednesday morning in Crescentville, police said.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who robbed a bank Wednesday morning in Crescentville.

The suspect, described as a black man in his mid-20s to early 30s, entered the Wells Fargo branch at Adams and Tabor avenues around 10:40 a.m., police said. He showed the teller a threatening note and demanded money, authorities said.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the scene, according to police.

The man is described as being about 6 feet tall with a medium build and a full black beard. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black SWARM Tour hooded sweatshirt, dark sunglasses and a black Lacoste baseball cap.

Authorities said the suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI/PPD Violent Crimes Task Force at 215-418-4000. A reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest, and tipsters can remain anonymous. ••
