Meanwhile, The Block Gives Back sponsored its annual Peace & Play Day.

The day featured moonbounces, inflatables, music, water ice, drinks, vendors, a pizza food truck, volleyball, football, cornhole, face painting, crafts and haircuts.

State Reps. Jared Solomon, Anthony Bellmon and Joe Hohenstein were among those in attendance.

The Block Gives Back’s next big event will be Block 2 School, on Aug. 19, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., on the 6800 block of Torresdale Ave. The day will include moonbounces, refreshments, music, resources and distribution of 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies. Donations of notebooks, folders, pencils, pencil cases, rulers, glue sticks, crayons and hand sanitizer are being accepted at The Block Shop, 6831 Torresdale Ave. ••
