St. Hubert High School president Lizanne Magarity Pando and Lawrence DiPaolo Jr., vice president for academic affairs for Neumann University, last week signed a guaranteed admission agreement.

As an added feature of this agreement, Neumann will award students who meet certain academic benchmarks with various merit scholarships. The Trustee Scholarship is at the top tier and provides students with an award of $16,000 per year for the four years of undergraduate studies at Neumann. To be eligible for the scholarship, students at St. Hubert must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.85 or higher and score 1300 or better on the SAT.

Other scholarship opportunities being offered by Neumann have various eligibility requirements. Each scholarship is renewable on an annual basis pending student performance at the university level.

Representatives from both schools also signed a two-year extension on an existing dual credit course that offers St. Hubert juniors and seniors the opportunity to take a public speaking class offered by Neumann. The class is part of the Distance Learning Program at St. Hubert and is taught utilizing video conference technology. Students participating in this program receive three credits from Neumann while simultaneously earning elective credits at St. Hubert. This program is in its fifth year.

Also present for the signing from St. Hubert were principal Gerard Laskowski and Eric Stonesifer, assistant principal of academic affairs. ••
