During this season of giving, the Bridge Educational Foundation last week donated more than $118,000 in scholarship money to a bunch of local private schools during a breakfast ceremony at Father Judge High School.
Back in March 1946, there was a strike at the massive General Electric facility, which stretched from 67th to 70th streets and Elmwood to almost Paschall avenues in Southwest Philadelphia’s Eastwick neighborhood.
“I think we’ll get to the championship. It’s going to be rough because some of the teams we play are tough. We definitely have the talent, and I think we’re strong because if one player isn’t doing well, the others will pick her up. We all keep each other positive.”
