St. Cecilia kicks off Catholic Schools Week with Living Wax Museum

St. Cecilia Elementary School on Monday morning kicked off a celebration of Catholic Schools Week with a Living Wax Museum.

Fifth-grade students chose a famous person to research. They created a poster board with information on their subject and memorized details about the person’s life.

The students stood still until a visitor approached, then they came to life to talk about their subject.

Some of the famous people spotlighted were Galileo, Jane Goodall, Betsy Ross, Teddy Roosevelt, Babe Ruth, Milton Hershey, Anne Frank, Jackie Robinson, St. Katharine Drexel, Abe Lincoln, Walt Disney, Ronald Reagan, Mister Rogers, Sally Ride, George Washington, Martin Luther King, Shakespeare, Ben Franklin, Thomas Edison, William Penn, Beethoven, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, St. Paul, Helen Keller, St. Teresa of Calcutta, St. Cecilia, Albert Einstein and Christopher Columbus.

There are 74 fifth-graders at St. Cecilia. Their teachers are Maryanne Burgmann, Jacqueline Latta and Sharon Strasbaugh. ••
