    Forget all that Winter Wonderland bunk. If you can get yourself indoors today while the roads are still clear, do it. The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J., is predicting heavy snow throughout Greater Philadelphia from 6 p.m. today (Thursday, Jan. 2) to 1 p.m. Friday (Jan. 3). The weather service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for snow and blowing snow.

    Philadelphia braces for Hurricane Sandy, closes schools and subways

    Mayor Nutter announced that SEPTA's buses, trolleys and regional rail lines would halt service overnight Sunday. Schools and city offices are closed today, and the region is drenched in heavy rains. The worst gusts of wind from the Category One hurricane were expected between 4 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday.
