Election Day is Tuesday, and candidates are making last-minute campaign appearances.
The nonpartisan Committee of Seventy, in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Philadelphia, Young Involved Philadelphia and WHYY, invite the public to attend an upcoming debate for city controller.
City Controller Alan Butkovitz was confident heading into the May 21 Democratic primary, but did not expect a blowout victory.
Unofficial returns from 95 percent of divisions showed that Butkovitz was winning 61 percent of the vote. Brett Mandel was taking 31 percent. Mark Zecca had 8 percent.
Now that Allyson Schwartz is officially in the governor’s race, Democrats are positioning themselves for her congressional seat.
