Margaret J. Foley

Margaret J. “Marge” Foley (nee Stinson), 85, passed away Aug. 7 after a brief illness. She attended St. Anne Elementary School and John W. Hallahan Catholic High School, and worked at General Electric. She was living in Closter, New Jersey.

She was the beloved wife of 55 years to Brendan Foley. She was the devoted mother of Liam, Colm and wife Nicole, Siobhan Fulco and husband Anthony, Brendan Jr. and wife Jill, Breige Alexander and late husband Dan, Deirdre Ciampa and husband Chris, and Sean and wife Angelique. She was the proud grandmother of Lance, Lauren, Alexandra, Adriana, Ella, Peter and Maria. She was the dearest sister of Robert Stinson and his late wife Ruth and Donna Schmincke and late husband Frank.

Growing up in Philadelphia, she enjoyed playing the organ at St. Anne Church and being with her extended family. She was a proud supporter of the U.S. military and emergency services, growing up in a family that loved and served the country.

She began piano lessons and Irish step dancing classes for all her children. She loved quilting, researching family history and, despite being a native Philadelphian, the New Jersey Devils.

She was a member of the St. Mary Church prayer shawl ministry and the Irish Center in Mount Airy.
