Hurb is a well-mannered and affectionate 9-year-old boy.
Cataracts impair his vision, so he sees light and motion, and he is deaf. These things don’t hold him back from living a good life. He learned his way around his foster mom’s house. He goes up and down the stairs on his own. When you enter a room, he can tell by sniff that you are there. He can see enough of your image to walk over to you for pets. He knows when it’s breakfast time and dinner time.
On sunny days, he will lay in the backyard for a long time with his favorite tennis ball. He will entertain himself with toys, especially chewing kong toys and bones. He doesn’t need to be entertained by you all the time. He loves walks and being outside, especially in the nice weather. He enjoys car rides and behaves well.
His foster mom reports that he lets her know when he needs to potty. He will go to the door and bark a few times.
He’s done great with other dogs, so he’d probably do well with the right doggy pal in his forever home. With his sweet disposition, the staff also thinks he’d likely be a great roommate for kids of any age.

Maddox was found as a stray in North Philadelphia. He showed up to eat at a small colony. The feeder knew right away that he was too sweet to live on the streets. Maddox is outgoing, super affectionate and loves catnip toys. He has an old injury that claimed a portion of his back foot, but it doesn’t hinder or hurt him in any way.
Maddox, 7, is neutered and up to date on vaccines, and tested negative for the feline leukemia and immunodeficiency viruses.
