Kyle Lowry has won at every level.
He guided Northeast High School to a Public League championship game as a sophomore before transferring to Cardinal Dougherty and did the same for the Cardinals during his junior and senior seasons.
Then he went to Villanova, where after recovering from a torn ACL, he helped the Wildcats make the Elite 8 as a sophomore.
He’s also won at the NBA level, guiding the Toronto Raptors to the NBA championship in 2019. Oh, and he has that Olympic gold medal he won in Brazil in 2016.
Now, he’s coming home.
For the first time in his professional career, Lowry is a Philadelphia 76er.
He announced Saturday night that he agreed to a deal with his home team after signing a $2.8 million contract for the remainder of the season.
Lowry, along with Sixers star Tyrese Maxey, will be responsible for keeping Philly in the playoff mix until MVP Joel Embiid returns.
Not only can Lowry still play, he will provide the team with plenty of toughness and leadership.
He also should have a strong relationship with coach Nick Nurse. The two were together on the Raptors’ championship team.
The six-time all-star is in his 18th year in the league.
Lowry announced the signing Saturday night with an Instagram post that showed his highlights from playing at Dougherty.
