City Controller Alan Butkovitz was confident heading into the May 21 Democratic primary, but did not expect a blowout victory.
Unofficial returns from 95 percent of divisions showed that Butkovitz was winning 61 percent of the vote. Brett Mandel was taking 31 percent. Mark Zecca had 8 percent.
City Controller Alan Butkovitz is predicting the “lowest turnout in history” when the election polls open on May 21.
When Brett Mandel ran for city controller in 2009, he said the campaign operated on hustle and moxie.
