Voice your opinion on Fox Chase town center

Neighbors can vote on three potential plans for redesign at the Fox Chase town center, around where Oxford Avenue, Rhawn Street and Pine Road intersect.

The redesign is part of the Complete Streets initiative, a part of Philadelphia 2035 revitalization plan with the goal of improving safety for pedestrians and cyclists. The city defines Complete Streets as accommodating to all users of the transportation system, including pedestrians, bicyclists, public transit users and car drivers.

Neighbors can vote on three different concepts. Concept A uses low-cost materials like paint and plastic posts to make travel lanes and crosswalks more visible. Concept B expands on this by using concrete to create curb extensions and narrow the road, while Concept C adds pedestrian refuges and wider curb extensions. Full descriptions and further details for each concept can be found in the survey.

Access the survey at bit.ly/fox-chase-transportation.

The concepts came about after feedback from a previous survey last fall.

The survey closes May 31. It will be the last opportunity for neighbors to voice their opinions before a draft of the study is released.
