Funeral on Monday morning for popular longtime shoemaker Ike Gammage

Funeral services will be held Monday morning for Ulysees “Ike” Gammage Sr., the popular longtime owner of New Father & Son’s Shoe Service, 6037 Castor Ave. in Oxford Circle.

A viewing will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. at Second Baptist Church of Germantown, 6459 Germantown Ave. A funeral service will start at 10. Interment will be at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

Gammage died Dec. 13 at age 81.

Gammage opened the shop, near Benner Street, in 1967. ••
