    NE ambulance drivers sentenced for fraud

    Two Northeast-area ambulance drivers were sentenced last week to serve at least two years in federal prison for their roles in a multimillion-dollar Medicare fraud. One of the drivers is also facing murder charges for his role in an unrelated drag racing crash on Roosevelt Boulevard that claimed the lives of a woman and her three young sons.

    Hospice care operator sentenced for fraud

    The operator of a former Northeast hospice care service was sentenced last week to more than 14 years in prison for Medicare fraud, just two days after the U.S. government filed a civil complaint against the same company, joining two former employees who blew the whistle on the multi-million-dollar scam and lost their jobs.

    Northeast doctor sentenced in Medicare fraud case

    A medical doctor was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison and a $300,000 fine last week in connection with a $14.3 million Medicare fraud case involving a Northeast-based hospice care service.
