Good boy Leroy and friendly Freddie need homes

Leroy is a bit of a shy guy. He takes a little bit to warm up to people, but once he does, he’s a bit of a mush.

Leroy, a pit bull who is about 6 years old, is at Philadelphia’s Animal Care and Control, at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave. His tag number is A36106643.

The dog likes butt scratches and long walks. He pulls at first on his walk because he’s so excited to get out. He’s been OK around other shelter dogs and has lived with a cat.

Adoption hours are weekdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ••

Freddie was found outside during the summer heat, and is now in the care of Northeast Animal Rescue.

Freddie is friendly and learning to live indoors again. He loves head scratches and playing with toy mice. But, his favorite game is to jump out from under the bed and “attack” his foster mom. He’s learning to get along with other cats.

Freddie, 19 months old, is neutered and current on vaccinations, and has tested negative for the feline leukemia and immunodeficiency viruses.
