Philadelphia police who fatally shot an allegedly armed and belligerent ex-convict during a traffic stop in Mayfair early Monday have come under scrutiny from the dead man’s relatives, who are comparing the incident to the controversial Michael Brown slaying.

Contractors’ employees this week are finishing the cleanup of a Frankford property they demolished last week. The house at 4712 Worth St. had been listed as “imminently dangerous” by the Department of Licenses and Inspections since after it was damaged in a fire in July 2013. Neighbors had complained the building should be torn down, and a city contractor began that work — by hand — on July 21. The property’s owner, a Florida man, will be billed $34,000.
