The offenders pulled up to him in a white U-Haul cargo van, pointed black handguns at him and forced him in. They told him they would kill him if he didn’t provide money. They drove to a local convenience store on the 9100 block of Frankford Ave., where the complainant withdrew $300 from the ATM. In an attempt to get more money, they went to a gas station on the 10000 block of Frankford Ave., but were not able to withdraw any money. The complainant was told to transfer money using a banking app. He called his mother to do so, and she sent him an additional $300. His phone was taken, and the suspects fled in an unknown direction.

Both suspects are black males in their 20s. One has a brown complexion and hazel eyes, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 7 inches tall. The other has a dark complexion, 6 feet to 6 feet 1 inches tall, heavy set.

Police believe there might be a connection to two other recent robberies in that area.

Both took place on Tuesday.

At 4:20 a.m., a woman was walking north on the 12000 block of Academy Road when four black males in their late teens forced her into a white U-Haul cargo van and robbed her at gunpoint. One suspect punched her in the face. The driver fired two shots at her.

At 5 a.m., a man was using the drive-through at the TD Bank on the 6300 block of Roosevelt Blvd. when a white U-Haul cargo van blocked his exit path. Two black males exited the U-Haul and pointed guns at him. They demanded money, but the transaction was unsuccessful. The suspects then stole his Mercedes Benz.
