The cleanup crew from the Friends of Pennypack Park endured an intermittent rainstorm to round up 29 bags of litter from the park near Frankford and Solly avenues on July 26. Curiously enough for the 21 rain-soaked volunteers, they also found an abandoned rowboat.
The hiking and biking trail now being built from behind Junod Playground in Parkwood to the rear of Benjamin Rush State Park at Southampton and the Boulevard should be completed in August, Parkwood Civic Association members were told June 18.
