In a letter to the editor in last week’s Times, a woman named “Jenn Michaelson” claimed that a campaign sign for Dee Adcock, the Republican candidate in the 13th Congressional District, fell onto Woodhaven Road and caused a four-inch-long scratch on her car.
We applaud Gov. Corbett for tackling Pennsylvania’s pension crisis, which is increasing our residents’ property taxes and diverting dollars away from the classroom to pay for large pension obligations. We thank the governor for standing up for Pennsylvania taxpayers and Pennsylvania children.

State Rep. Brendan Boyle on Tuesday won a surprisingly easy victory in the 13th Congressional District Democratic primary, declaring victory at about 10 p.m. at Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 headquarters in the Far Northeast.
The Democratic Party primary on May 20 should be an interesting one, especially in the Lower Northeast, where there are a few contested races. One of them is for the 179th Pennsylvania House seat now held by freshman state Rep. James Clay Jr.
