A June 16 ruling by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court dealt a likely fatal blow to a Northeast family’s 24-year quest for justice. The high court affirmed a lower court ruling that overturned a death sentence for the man who murdered Police Officer Daniel Boyle in 1991.
The 18th annual Officer Daniel Boyle Athletic Program beef-and-beer fundraiser will be on Saturday, Nov. 29, from 8 p.m. to midnight at Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5, 11630 Caroline Road.
Burholme groups collecting food donations
The legacy of a slain Philadelphia police officer grew on Sept. 9 as the St. Veronica Elementary School blessed and dedicated its new Officer Daniel Boyle Library Media Center in a gathering of school children, staff and families, along with the Boyle family and friends.
Never forgotten: Verizon recently donated $8,750 to the Officer Daniel Boyle Scholarship Fund. The check presentation took place at Boyle Playground, named in memory of the slain officer.
