Whether you’re bringing a dish to your mom’s, to your sister’s, to Aunt Mabel’s, or to your hipster friend’s house in Fishtown, or just cooking at home, everyone will be more than happy to pass the plate and enjoy this special vegetable medley.
Salagadoola mechicka boola bibbidi-bobbidi-boo. It’ll do magic believe it or not. Bippidy-boppity-boo. These words may not magically turn your pumpkin into a Rolls-Royce or produce the charming prince who is the man of your dreams, but they are a catchy tune that you can sing while you’re cooking up something special – like The Great Pumpkin Meatloaf.

Pumpkins, native to North America, have always played an important part in Thanksgiving meals. Evidently, the first settlers were not dazzled by the American Indians’ gift to them of pumpkins. But after scourge, pestilence and death, the colonists who survived the first harsh winter here changed their tune. Pumpkins became an important food source.
