A couple of creative burglars busted open a back door and cut through a wall to break into a Summerdale grocery store on Sept. 13, but they apparently didn’t account for the surveillance cameras inside, according to police.
Realtors want city to start collecting on delinquent taxes.
The president of Philadelphia’s leading organization of real estate agents is fed up with the city’s inability or unwillingness to collect delinquent taxes and he’s looking for others who share his disgust. More specifically, he wants agents who work or live in the Northeast to hop on board.
Detectives didn’t have to spend very long chewing over the evidence in a July 14 knifepoint robbery of a Franklin Mills gas station. Marc J. Beaver basically did the investigating for them, police claim.

Contractors who submit permit applications to the Department of Licenses and Inspections will have to submit “tax clearance” forms and show they have insurance. Contractors also must show they have insurance coverage for general liability, workers compensation and automobile liability.
The Upper Holmesburg Civic Association may join the effort to restrict the proliferation of digital billboards and their conventional counterparts, static billboards, throughout the city. The group may also take a stand against a proposal to post more advertising on the city’s unused public school buildings.
