Help seniors get ready for winter
The Burholme Community Town Watch and Civic Association met on Sept. 11, and members gave a standing ovation to 2nd Police District community relations officer Dianne Murphy in observance of the 13th anniversary of the terrorist bombings that killed hundreds of first responders.
The newly formed Burholme Business Association held its first two meetings recently at Wesley Enhanced Living, 7040 Oxford Ave. There were morning and evening meetings on Aug. 28.
Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer as well as the end of summer break for many Northeast Philadelphia civic associations that will resume their monthly public meetings in September. The Northeast Times will strive to report on as many of these meetings as possible. But residents are also welcome to attend these sessions to find out what’s happening in their neighborhoods.
