The St. Jerome School Advancement Board announced on May 12 that the Hamels Foundation has awarded a $5,000 Partners in Education Grant to the school for the second consecutive year. The grant will support the purchase of STEM engineering sets such as Lego and K’nex Education kits.
Students from the kindergarten through eighth grade classes of St. Jerome’s School in Holme Circle collected thousands of dimes in February and March as part of the “Dime Wars — Dimes for Desks Project,” which supports the purchase of desks for students of Namunda Primary School in Malawi, Africa, a school built by the generous funding of the Hamels Foundation.

For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation invites adults, children and teams to join the For Pete’s Sake Walk at Citizens Bank Park on Sunday, April 27. This three-mile fun walk will raise funds to provide vacations to adult cancer patients and their loved ones. These respites enable them to take a break from cancer and strengthen, deepen and unify their relationships.
