Jimmy Binns, president and CEO of Holiday Meals for Heroes, on Friday welcomed senior police personnel from the Philadelphia area and nearly 50 families of local police officers who are severely disabled or died in the line of duty to a breakfast at Sunnybrook Golf Club in Plymouth Meeting.

The families also took home Christmas dinner donations.

The event was sponsored by International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 98. The program furnishes breakfast and dinner meals to area families of fallen police officers at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Families of local fallen officers who were in attendance were Chuck Cassidy, Isabel Nazario, Patrick McDonald, Timothy Simpson, Andrew Stackwicz, John Pawlowski, Brian Lorenzo and Walter DeWitt.

Highway Patrol Officer Andy Chan, a 24-year veteran who was severely injured in an accident as he headed to work on Rhawn Street in 2019, was at the breakfast and is making progress in his recovery.

Santa Claus made an appearance, and a DJ played Christmas music. ••
