Students at St. Christopher School in Somerton collected canned goods for Thanksgiving week in support of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Nutritional Development Services, which provides meals to needy families.

Feeding the hungry: Academy Injury and Health Center, at 2808 Southampton Road, organized an effort that provided Thanksgiving meals to about 275 local needy families. The drive concluded on Monday, when Academy Injury and Health Center employees, patients and volunteers joined high school students in boxing and delivering the meals. Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 president John McNesby and attorney James J. Binns last week led a caravan of police vehicles and motorcycles that delivered full-course Thanksgiving dinners to more than a dozen families of officers killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.
