Texting his way to the top

Philadelphia Academy Charter School student Ryan Hettel, 16, won a texting competition held at Orleans Technical College earlier this month. The National Court Reporters Association’s Director of Membership and Marketing, Sara Wood, presented him with a $1,000 scholarship.

McDonald Scholarship Fund golf outing slated for May 15

The Sgt. Patrick McDonald Scholarship Fund invites golfers to register for its annual outing at John F. Byrne Golf Club on Friday, May 15. There will be two tee times, 7 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., with a lunch buffet of meatballs, roast beef, hot dogs and salad starting at 11 a.m.
