Somerton scores a historical win

The Somerton Spartans football team recently won the Mighty Mites Division (9 and under) championship in the Northeast Suburban Athletic Conference (NESAC) with a 30-0 victory over Calvary A.A. It was Somerton’s first football championship in any division in about 30 years, according to team officials.

Bob Nines, who spent many years working as a printer for the Philadelphia Bulletin and Northeast Times, died last week. He was 69.
