Walk benefits adult cancer patients

For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation invites adults, children and teams to join the For Pete’s Sake Walk at Citizens Bank Park on Sunday, April 27. This three-mile fun walk will raise funds to provide vacations to adult cancer patients and their loved ones. These respites enable them to take a break from cancer and strengthen, deepen and unify their relationships.


Local teen makes rank of Eagle Scout

Boy Scout Troop 321’s Andrew Kloter has made the rank of Eagle Scout. Kloter, 18, of Burholme, is a senior at Roman Catholic High School, where he plays varsity lacrosse. His Eagle project was to repaint the Presentation BVM church hall. Kloter’s Court of Honor will take place on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Presentation.

Celebrating a lifetime of happiness

Time to strut: Kitty Appicello celebrated her 103rd birthday at her Erdrick Street home in grand Philly style on March 30 — with Mummers. Appicello dances to the Mummers’ sound as she was surrounded by friends and family, including her seventh great-great-grandchild. Appicello moved to the city from upstate Pennsylvania 95 years ago.
