The Engineers’ Club of Philadelphia presented Somerton resident Ruben David with its 2014 Outstanding Service to the Community Award on Feb. 14. The award recognizes an engineer who has over the course of his career provided professional and personal service above and beyond the call of duty to the Delaware Valley community. David was honored during Delaware Valley Engineers Week, which is part of a national engineering observance.

The National Education Association’s Read Across America Day was on March 3. Due to weather, Kennedy Crossan Elementary School participated on March 7 instead. Nazareth Hospital hosted a blessing and dedication last week to celebrate the opening of its new Infusion Suite. The nearly $1 million construction project began in September and took about three months to complete. It was officially unveiled on March 3.
