Workers paint a rusty bridge at Frankford and Solly avenues in Holmesburg. Residents have wanted the bridge renovated for 15 years. The project is now under the supervision of U.S. Rep. Bob Brady.

Bustleton Civic approves plan to relocate Dunkin’ Donuts

Members of the Greater Bustleton Civic League last week supported a plan to move a Dunkin’ Donuts shop from one part of Grant Plaza II to another.


Donations needed for community fund

Thanksgiving hasn’t arrived yet, but the Northeast Times has already heard from residents requesting help this holiday season. The 66th annual Eleanor Smylie Community Fund has helped thousands of families during the Christmas season.


A smashing success

Dunphy Ford, 7700 Frankford Ave., held its second annual Sledge Hammer Bash on Saturday. People used a sledgehammer to smash a used car painted with Dallas Cowboys colors.
