Corbett signs bill for dyslexia intervention program

Gov. Tom Corbett last week signed into law House Bill 198, the Dyslexia and Early Literacy Intervention Pilot Program, sponsored by state Rep. Ed Neilson.

Play time in Northeast Philly

Children ages 8-12 are invited to sign up for the free Philly Play summer camp, which starts on Monday, July 7. The Philly Play initiative is led by City Councilman Bobby Henon. 

Frankford Civic to meet July 10

The Frankford Civic Association, which routinely meets on the first Thursday of the month, has pushed its July session to the second Thursday, July 10.  Members will gather in the second-floor meeting room of Aria Health’s Frankford campus, 4900 Franford Ave. at 7 p.m.

Charlie Gracie to perform at Disston Rec

The legendary Charlie Gracie will be in concert on Thursday, July 10, at Disston Recreation Center, at 4510 Disston St. in Tacony. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. with a performance by Ramona Jane.
