Local park announces nature walk
Manor College recently held its 30 Days for Literacy Book Drive. All books collected were donated to local schools and child care centers.
In addition to SPARC-simulated space flights, students are working on creating a competing robot designed to go underwater and check pipelines.

St. Christopher students Ava Brakoniecki, Victoria Burbage and Michael Whalen have been named recipients of the Josephine C. Connelly Achievement Award. Recipients receive partial tuition for four years to an Archdiocese of Philadelphia high school. Brakoniecki will attend Archbishop Ryan. Burbage will attend John W. Hallahan and Whalen will attend Father Judge.
American Heritage Federal Credit Union’s Green Team hosted its fifth annual Family and Friends Adopt-A-Highway event on April 12. Volunteers took advantage of a beautiful spring day to clean two miles of Frankford Avenue (U.S. Route 13) between Academy and Knights roads in the Northeast. American Heritage will hold additional clean-ups throughout the year.
The Burholme Golf and Family Entertainment Center’s first swing and learn to golf clinic and golf workshop for individuals with disabilities was held on April 16.
The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission is accepting entries into the Pennsylvania Modern Architecture Juried Photo Exhibit, which will run from Oct. 25 through Feb. 28 at The State Museum of Pennsylvania.
