Red Cross announces local blood drives

The American Red Cross urges blood donors to give in the final weeks of summer to help prevent a blood shortage. Blood donations often decline in August as final summer vacations are planned and back-to-school activities ramp up.


La Salle professor earns education award

The Insurance Society of Philadelphia recently honored Burholme resident Kathleen McNichol, MBA, assistant professor of finance and coordinator of La Salle University’s Risk Management and Insurance program, with its Mariellen Whelan Excellence in Education Award.


Kids Fest event is this Saturday

‘Vettes for Vets event is Saturday

The Corvette Club of the Delaware Valley is sponsoring its third annual ‘Vettes for Vets & Airborne Day on the grounds of Katie O’Donnell’s Irish Pub and Restaurant, 4501 Woodhaven Road, on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rain date is Aug. 16.


State rep calls for termination of professor due to Facebook posts

State Rep. Mark Cohen has written a letter to Richard Green, interim president of Lincoln University, asking that he severely discipline or fire a professor who has made controversial posts on Facebook.
