‘A Night of Magic’ benefit to be held this Saturday

A benefit is being planned for Jim Straub, a Mayfair native and Father Judge High School graduate who died of a brain tumor in January.


New trees to be planted at St. Hubert

The 300,000th tree to be planted as part of the city’s “Plant One Million” program will be put in the ground on Friday morning at St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls.


The golden years

The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 last week honored those who were celebrating their golden anniversaries of union membership with a special luncheon at the FOP’s new facility on Caroline Road in the Northeast. Eighty members with 50 years membership were honored. Among those marking the special anniversary was George McNesby (left), his wife, Judy, and their son, John McNesby, Lodge 5’s president. 


Alt-rock band Melodime to perform April 22 at North Star

No place like home

Office of Oz: American Heritage Federal Credit Union turned its Bustleton campus into the “Land of Oz” on April 9 as part of its Employee Appreciation Day. Employees enjoyed games throughout the day while competing for the title of Employee Appreciation Day Champions.
