The Northeast remains the city’s hot spot for auto crashes involving senior citizens. Not particularly great news for grandpop and grandmom, but news they should have.
Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer as well as the end of summer break for many Northeast Philadelphia civic associations that will resume their monthly public meetings in September. The Northeast Times will strive to report on as many of these meetings as possible. But residents are also welcome to attend these sessions to find out what’s happening in their neighborhoods.
Amateur bouts set for Sept. 5
On Friday, the Northeast will celebrate the grand opening of the newest place to get a cup of coffee, Anthony’s Café Espresso, 4741 Princeton St. Celebrity gourmet coffee expert Todd Carmichael, who stars in the Discovery network’s Dangerous Grounds, will be on hand at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 5.

Several people with Northeast ties will be honored on Sept. 10 at a gala sponsored by the Zionist Organization of America’s Greater Philadelphia District.
