Local competitor going to Harrisburg

The National American Miss state pageant in Harrisburg on Aug. 9 and 10 will include a contestant from the Northeast — Marjani Hankins-Smith, daughter of Charina and Gerald. The 10-year-old Cedar Grove Christian Academy fourth-grader who lives near Welsh Road and the Boulevard will showcase her acting talents during the pageant, said her mom. Marjani likes sports, but she also studies dance at the Defino Sisters studio at Bustleton and Rhawn. ••
