Once again, the Raiders are doing things the right way.

The Archbishop Ryan High School boys basketball team has gotten to be one of the elite teams in the Catholic League and the Philly area, by playing the right way.

They recently pledged to do the same off the court.

The Raiders became the first team to take the pledge for “My Daughter’s Team” to raise awareness and get men and women to help prevent harassment and sexual assault.

“We are so proud of the Archbishop Ryan basketball team for taking the pledge and making it known they want to help prevent harassment, sexual assault and trafficking against females”, said Kelly Lewis, founder of My Daughter’s Team. “They are the first team to take the Pledge and it’s immediately encouraging other teams at Archbishop Ryan and other high schools to take the pledge.”

Events like this are something that the Ryan basketball team is known for. On top of being one of the best teams in the area, they pride themselves on representing the school away from the court as well.

“We want to make an impact in the community and keep all girls safe,” said Ryan coach and athletic director Joe Zeglinski. “We are proud to be the first team to make the pledge to protect our young females from harassment and abuse.”

To work against harassment and abuse of young females, “My Daughter’s Team” is seeking teams and groups to take the pledge, “I’m on my Daughter’s team.” www.mydaughtersteam.com
