Zingaro was admitted to the ICU at Jeanes Hospital on May 17 with health complications. Testing came back positive for COVID-19. He died on May 20, the 42nd anniversary of his ordination.

Zingaro earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.

Over the years, Zingaro had three stints at St. John Cantius, first serving as assistant pastor from 1980-86 before becoming a parochial vicar at St. Adalbert from 1986-93.

In 2000, Zingaro returned to St. John Cantius, this time as pastor, remaining until 2013. He served a year as pastor at Holy Name of Jesus before returning in June 2014 for a third time at St. John Cantius, where he remained until his passing.

Zingaro’s non-parish assignments included associate director in the Office for Youth and Young Adults, coordinator of priest vocations and power of attorney at St. Laurentius. ••
